The Cabanon, Champagne 2019

For the Artist In Residence / Route de Champagne 2019,  the organisers proposed a group project to transformation a cinderblock cabin located on the main artery of Ville-Sur-Arce. Limited to donated material and ’48 hours’ construction time my proposition focused on methodic construction and raw material.

The concept intends to blur the identity of the structure by using a curtain. The horizontal pattern of the vineyards is displaced to the vertical plane, as a curtain of tutors on nylon cord. Red tips were chosen to represent the labour and devotion of the winemakers.
